Electronic bill presentment, or e-billing as it is often known, is the new way of receiving your Opal bill each month. It is a process of presenting your monthly bill to you on the Internet instead of on paper, which gives you the convenience of viewing your statements online and allowing the data on your e-bill to be sorted, totalled, filtered or queried giving you much more information about your Opal account. E-Billing works by moving your paper-based statements onto the Internet.
E-billing will make the whole process of receiving and checking your monthly bill fast, accurate and convenient, not to mention the benefit to the environment of less waste paper. Here are some of the benefits e-billing will bring you:
You need to contact Opal's e-billing department on 0800 083 1046 or billingdept@opaltelecom.co.uk and from there we will set you up with your e-billing account. There is a 48 hour set-up time before you can access your account.
The bill will look very much like your paper statement. Because the bill is on the Internet, there may be one or two slight differences. Your bill should be as easy to understand and work with as your paper bill.
You will be notified by e-mail as soon as a new bill is available for viewing. A link in the e-mail will take you to the login page of the e-billing section of our website.
There are several ways:

Yes. You contact customer services through an email facility that is provided as part of the e-bill. One of our customer representatives will usually contact you within 24 hours. Alternatively you can still telephone customer services.
Yes, it is possible to link multiple accounts under one username. This means that you will only receive one email notification for all of your accounts, and that you only need to login to the system once to see the e-bills for all of your accounts. This is only available for corporate customers. You will need to register each one of your accounts, and then we will tie them to one account that you can view when you log on.
We have taken a number of measures to ensure that viewing your e-bills is secure and that only your billing data is protected. Firstly your online bill is protected by a username and password, which only you know. For your peace of mind, you can change your password online as often as you want.
Secondly, elements of the bill specific to you such as user details are encrypted. This means that none of your user details can be viewed by anyone else.
In addition to this your session will time out if there is no activity on your e-bill for 10 minutes. This means that if you walk away from your computer while logging into your e-bill, no one can come and start looking at your personal information. Once the e-bill session has timed out you can't even use the back button to look at previous pages without entering your password.
If someone else tries to login as you, the account will be deactivated after 3 failed login attempts, the account can only then be reactivated by contacting Opal Telecom customer services .
